What would a drummer do to make the sound of a drum give a note of lower pitch? A.hit the drum skin with a larger force B.hit the drum skin with a smaller force? C.hit the drum skin near the edge D.loosen the drum skin?

OpenStudy (shamim):

Do u think pitch depends on amplitude nd frequency?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes it depends....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes sir...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then B will be right option?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then B will be right option?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I disagree. The pitch is changed by adjusting the tension of the skin. Less tension lowers the pitch. Striking the drum with a smaller force will only reduce the intensity (loudness) of the sound. It will not affect pitch.
