What is the value of y when x = 3? y = 12x x | y ------- 0 | ------- 1 | ------- 2 | ------- 3 | A. 24 B. 36 C. 48 D. 60

Nnesha (nnesha):

replace x by 3 and then solve

Nnesha (nnesha):

they gave you table you can find y values b plugging x numbers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Simply substitute 3 for x in the equation. :)

OpenStudy (mrnood):

12x just means 12 times x x represents any number in general BUT in this case you are told that x = 3 so it means 12 times 3......

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So does that mean the answer is B. 36?

Nnesha (nnesha):

that's right :-)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yep. :D

OpenStudy (mrnood):

If oyu are already at this stage in oyur maths career then I am sure oyu know what 12 times 3 is

Nnesha (nnesha):

you can check your answer plug in x and y values \[\huge\rm 36 = 12(3)\] both sides are equal ? if yes then 36 is 100% right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you and btw @Nnesha I like your profil pic I know it is way off topic but I had to say something about it. : )

Nnesha (nnesha):
