A study involving teenage golfers was conducted to determine the effect of practice time on golf scores in a tournament. What is the dependent variable? A. golf scores in the tournament B. practice time C. age of golfers D. difficulty of the golf course

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think C...?

OpenStudy (kaylardz0405):

yes that should be correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks

A study was conducted to determine the relationship between the outdoor temperature and the number of visitors to a municipal swimming pool. What are the independent and dependent variables for this study? A. The independent variable is the size of the pool, and the dependent variable is the number of visitors to the pool. B. The independent variable is the number of visitors to the pool, and the dependent variable is the size of the pool. C. The independent variable is the outdoor temperature, and the dependent variable is the number of visitors to the pool. D. The independent variable is the number of visitors to the pool, and the dependent variable is the outdoor temperature.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(Telling someone the answer is against the code of conduct cough cough) Like mentioned last time, independent variables are things that are not influenced by other items.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

More so, I do believe the age thing in question one was incorrect. Age should be irrelevant to how much practice time was invested into each golfing game.

OpenStudy (kaylardz0405):

independent is the tempruater right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no idea

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, independent is the temperature, because dependent will be how many people that go to the swimming pool BECAUSE of the heat. The size of the pool has nothing to do with how many people are going to go swimming.

OpenStudy (kaylardz0405):

so since you know now that the temurater is independent you can cross out some answers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Back to question one, age has nothing to do with how much time will be put into practicing. Golf scores will be dependent, considering time will be the independent variable in that scenario.

OpenStudy (kaylardz0405):

for question two there is only one answer with temurature as independent so that would be your answer

OpenStudy (kaylardz0405):

it would be C did you understand that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what about question 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Like I said, golf scores will be dependent... What answer has that in it?

OpenStudy (kaylardz0405):

and practice time would be indepent

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Um D?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No. Difficulty of the course has nothing to do with time put into training.

OpenStudy (kaylardz0405):

i think A would be the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry Guys if im wrong but im an artist not a mathematician

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I feel you, us writers have no real business in this topic either. But yes, A is your answer.

OpenStudy (kaylardz0405):

its all right but a least try to learn somthing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol Yea Thanks guys!

OpenStudy (kaylardz0405):

your welcome

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea i passed

OpenStudy (kaylardz0405):

congrats

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks

OpenStudy (kaylardz0405):

yep
