A fruit packing plant counted the number of oranges packed in each crate on 1 day. The plant also counted the number of pears packed in each crate on the same day. From these counts, the plant calculated both the mean number of pieces of fruit loaded into a crate and the MAD (mean absolute deviation) for each type of fruit. The plant then made a table of these values. Fruit Number packed in a crate Mean MAD Oranges 30.1 1.3 Pears 36.2 1.5
