Well, the US invaded Iraq in 2003 to get rid of Saddam Hussein. The US definitely did not pull out within a year. It took the US a long time to pull out all the troops in Iraq. Saddam Hussein definitely did not surrender immediately. So that crosses out A and B. Leaving with only C and D. Which one do you think it is?

Correct. Shortly after the war started, Saddam was quickly toppled. All though he did not surrender, he did get captured by the US quickly. He was then tried, and executed.
