Will Medal to most helpful!!!!! Simplify -7+2(x-3) A:x-10 B:x-13 C:2x-10 D:2x-13

OpenStudy (alyssa_xo):

distribute the 2 and combine like terms

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-7(2x-3)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You have to multiply 2(x-3) first so take 2 times x then 2 times -3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So you'll get -7 + 2x - 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so -7+(2x-6)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just remove the prenthesis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-7+2x-6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, now you take -7 and add it to -6 which will get you 2x - 13 which will be D. If a number is outside a parenthesis like 3(x + 4) you multiply the inside by the outside number.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok thank you!!:D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):
