radians and degrees help!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if my answer is incorrect, can someone go through the steps to solve an equation like this?

OpenStudy (dan815):

okay hmm

OpenStudy (dan815):

do u know what a radian is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah my thoughts exactly.. hah i hate this unit. yes i know what a radian is

OpenStudy (dan815):

can u tell me your definition of a radian

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is the measure of a central angle that intercepts an arc on the circle

OpenStudy (dan815):

ah okay well, u shud think about it this way

OpenStudy (dan815):

radians is actually telling you how many radius units you passed along the circumference

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm okay. im following

OpenStudy (dan815):

there are exactly 2pi radius around a circumference

OpenStudy (dan815):

it means if u take the radius of a circle, and begin to place it along the circumference, you can place 2pi of them which is about 6.28 so you can place about 6 and a quarter of its own radius around the circle
