Pursuing life as another statistic.
Labelled and branded,
For the better of societies definitions.
Stuck in a small percentage that covers you with bars.
Because that’s where you stay…
Labeled…and Branded.
For life?
For history?
Or maybe it’s just amusement.
I can never tell.
Because it’s defiantly not for diversity and acceptance.
I am a unique person and I cannot be defined
And I refuse to let any person tell me who I am
And I’m not.
I don’t want to be another statistic,
I want to create a new one.
Because the honest truth is
We’re all .1 percent.
But we’re told to hide that
As if it never existed.

I like it a lot! It's a bit rough, but the concepts hit very close to home and it's definitely something that needs written about more often. Wonderful job~!

societies definitions should be society's definitions because it's possessive, not plural. Other than that, this is really good. I like the emphasis you place on individuality in a lot of your poetry; it is a great reminder to me on some hard days. The last four lines are wonderful.

hrmm to be honest, it didn't really stick with me. I'm not sure why though:P
It reads like a spoken poem rather than a written poem. Get what i'm saying? It's just a different style than I prefer, but it's good!

@babynini yea lately ive been really into spoken poetry i want to eventually try to get a youtube channel and do that. But honestly i dont expect everyone to like it. So thank you for being so honest. I totally understand what youre saying and i really appreciate the honesty! Thank you
