Dehydration is the leading problem for football players in training camp. When they go to practice, they perform very tough workouts. Football players are pushed by their coaches to work harder in spite of the heat. Sometimes, players drink very little water during practice, which can cause dehydration. Football players can become lightheaded, dizzy, and nauseous when they are exhausted from the heat. This can lead to a heat stroke, which is when the body reaches a temperature of 105 degrees. Heat stroke can cause major problems to a person’s internal organs and can even lead to a coma.
