Since −3v contains the variable to solve for, move it to the left-hand side of the inequality by adding 3v to both sides. 2v+6+3v>9 Add 2v and 3v to get 5v. 5v+6>9 Since 6 does not contain the variable to solve for, move it to the right-hand side of the inequality by subtracting 6 from both sides. 5v>−6+9 Add −6 and 9 to get 3. 5v>3 Divide each term in the inequality by 5. v>3/5
