Why do people make the bible their life rules. I mean we are free (people in most countries) why do people listen to a book and risk their freedom? (i don't mean to offend anyone i'm just curious)
The bible is kinda of like the law. So your question would be something like this: Why do we have to follow the law?
Also, we are not free to do whatever we want. You can't just go kill somebody and tell the police that you can do whatever you want becuz your free.
@KendrickLamar2014 so um i'm breaking the law? I ment like religious freedom and general freedom compared to third world countries.
When did I say you were breaking the Law?
People follow the bible and "die" for there religion because they believe that when they die they will go to heaven. The bible says not to make treasures here in the world, but in Heaven.
@KendrickLamar2014 But isn't the world our home?
You can say that, but who would want to live in a world where everyday people are fighting, killing, breaking the law, etc.
Also, God tells us how to go to Heaven. In the Bible, it tells us that all we have to do is believe in Jesus Christ as our Savior. @TobleroneJesus
Well yes I want to live because I want to go to school, have a family, and make a difference in this world, get a job. Heaven just sounds like a too safe of a place that people can take for granted.
Well God will be in Heaven and nothing will go wrong because he is watching everything. He knows what your going to do tomorrow, in a week, and even in a year.
@KendrickLamar2014 Then why does he make us have health issues?
He has us have health issues to see how we will respond. Will we stay in Christ? Will we curse to God? Will we leave God? those are the questions he wants to see. If your actually with him you will stay in him, if your not, you will leave him.
@TobleroneJesus
ohhh okay also, does God love everyone unconditionally?
Yes, it dosn't matter if your poor or rich, young or old, he loves us all.
Also, he forgives if you ask him a sincere forgiveness
Forgive is defined as "to give up resentmetn of or claim to requital for" requital is defined as "a to make return for:repay b to make retaliation for: avenge, 2 to make suitable return to for a benifit or service or for a injury This definition is what I call human forgiveness, I include in divine forgiveness correction and guidance. The human forgiveiness is essentially a principle of let it slide and get on with ones life. I would be nice if I could effect others in a more effective way when I forgive them but that's not up to me. Also its very difficult to forgive someone when they don't acknowledge a worng doing and even when you do forgive then it does not neccessarily have dealing with them again, its a trust issue.
TobleroneJesus, you have the best questions :) those are important to think about o.0
