how does a resistor affect the current in an electrical current?

@IrishBoy123

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

do you know this equation \[V = I \ R\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

a resistor "resists" the flow of current, hence the name. does that help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a little

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

a battery is an energy source. it pushes charge around a electric circuit. the more resistance in the circuit, the slower the charge will flow. that flow of chage we call current. imagine you are pushing your car up a hill. it's kinda the same thing. the hill will resist/ make it harder for you. the steep the hill, the harder it gets electricl resistance works the same way

ohh i get it now
