complete the square to recognise the circle equation in cartesian, and to work out where the circle is based, and its centre & radius

OR

just jump in with the various facts, y = r cos theta, x = r sin theta, x^2 + y^2 = r^2 ...etc

but, as always, think about drawing or picturing it in your head.
