OpenStudy (nincompoop):

evaluate next move for black

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

@dan815

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

This is from a very theoretical position Gruenfeld Defense. Having white pieces, Nakamura (American GM) used \(Bc1 - d2 \)

OpenStudy (dan815):

hmm nc6 or bg7

OpenStudy (dan815):

or nb6

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

pick one

OpenStudy (dan815):

bf5 desnt seem bad either

OpenStudy (dan815):

nvm bf5 is bad lol

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

This is why you always want to take your moves back because you do not think each variations through. One move must be superior than the others at some point, so pick one.

OpenStudy (dan815):

interesting

OpenStudy (dan815):

well why cant they all be about equal lol

OpenStudy (dan815):

ok ill do bg7

OpenStudy (dan815):

castle and try for play on queen side

OpenStudy (dan815):

get my 2 knights workined on that side with 3 pawn push there

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

that's very logical and safe. it allows the bishop to take the center whilst allowing a king-castle side and threatening the pawn.

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

now what would be the best move for white?

OpenStudy (dan815):

he wants to prolly play e4 or take the knight and play e4 and try to make that bishop on that g7 useless in the future

OpenStudy (dan815):

get a rook on the open file

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

fianchetto must not be undermined

OpenStudy (dan815):

or take knigght after queen takes then check with queen then put a bishop on c4

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

that is one of the main lines that Nakamura delayed, e2-e4

OpenStudy (dan815):

oh wait that doesnt work becauase now bishop is on g7 so queen can just take the pawn anyway after bcc4

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

so what is the best move for black?

OpenStudy (dan815):

id go nb6 i dont wanna capture that knight hmm

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

good for you, laughing out loud so what is the best move for white?

OpenStudy (dan815):

cuz hed prolly take with the bishop.. and eventually trade off for my fianchetto bishop

OpenStudy (dan815):

eventually leaving a backward pawn but my king will be worse off too

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

who has the control of the center?

OpenStudy (dan815):

white after e4

OpenStudy (dan815):

buutt we do have flanks and some freaks avaiable later

OpenStudy (rational):

black is trying indian opening if i were black, il trade knights

OpenStudy (dan815):

why is knight taking a good move though

OpenStudy (dan815):

is it because nb6 is bad for later it hapens our pawn pushes later on

OpenStudy (dan815):

it hampers*

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

one of gruenfeld variations end up with trading knights, good for you, @rational

OpenStudy (rational):

having black bishop outside is always bad for white

OpenStudy (rational):

thats from experience, cant prove it though

OpenStudy (dan815):

i see

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

that is to disrupt the monopoly of center game

OpenStudy (dan815):

lets play again rational :)

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

so what is the goal really? always about getting those four squares in the center, right?

OpenStudy (dan815):

yes i see :)

OpenStudy (dan815):

i guess i havent focused on that much lel id just give it up and try to do flanks

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

you made an interesting suggestion earlier about \(Bc8-g4 \) I think

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

flanks are good, but that is after you've considered taking measures about the center. flanks are quite easy to stifle and sometimes you end up trapped and cramped in that area specially when inexperienced.

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

learn from history that even in warfares, flanks are not the first to attack.

OpenStudy (dan815):

:) im READY!

OpenStudy (dan815):

i have learnt TODAY THAT COURAGE is the key to victory

OpenStudy (dan815):

lets playy rattionaall

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

you still fall into forks and skewers though

OpenStudy (rational):

is there a way to move pieces in drawing board

OpenStudy (dan815):

oh that would be cool haha

OpenStudy (dan815):

we could write a program, that outputs a picture based on PGN

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

there are extensions and plugins already made for that laughing out loud

OpenStudy (dan815):

on OS i mean

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

oh

OpenStudy (rational):

http://raphaeljs.com/touches.html

OpenStudy (rational):

wish all shapes that we draw on OS drawing board are draggable like that

OpenStudy (rational):

then we can simply put chess pieces using unicode characters and start playing!

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

black to play

OpenStudy (dan815):

we could make it like a plug in like this

OpenStudy (rational):

i would do 0-0

OpenStudy (dan815):

have a 4 inputs LETTER number LETTER NUMBER game starts on starting position, after the player enters tthe 4 inputs it should clear the picture and repost an updated picture
