HELP!! MEDAL!! What value is missing from the table? a) 13 b)14 c)12

OpenStudy (clamin):

|dw:1432411098072:dw|

OpenStudy (amistre64):

do we have linear information? is the slope the same between any 2 points?

OpenStudy (clamin):

its about functions and tables

OpenStudy (amistre64):

right, and you are to extrapolate a function and apply it i assume.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

what do you believe a function would be that represents the table data?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its is b

OpenStudy (clamin):

@theunkownname1 how did u get 14?? how do u solve it??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you have to figuree out the function

OpenStudy (clamin):

how?? @theunkownname1

OpenStudy (kaylardz0405):

its 12

OpenStudy (amistre64):

sigh, now we have just everyone giving an answer and none of them the same ... i wonder if theres a better way.

OpenStudy (kaylardz0405):

its 1*1.25

OpenStudy (kaylardz0405):

and then if you multiply each number by 1.25 it gives the amount

OpenStudy (kaylardz0405):

if you multiply 12*1.25 what do you get

OpenStudy (amistre64):

forming the function is key to the process. and it does tend to be an art, but there are steps we can take. seeing if the slope is the same is a start. if it is we have a line forming.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the equation does turn out to be y = 1.25x i agree

OpenStudy (kaylardz0405):

yes

OpenStudy (kaylardz0405):

i still think the answer is 12

OpenStudy (kaylardz0405):

what do u think

OpenStudy (kaylardz0405):

diid u get it

OpenStudy (clamin):

youre right @kaylaRdz0405
