Athens is known for inventing Democracy, and for philosophers such as Socrates and Plato. I believe this should be enough information for you to guess the answer! Otherwise, feel free to ask again!
I still don't know
I can't give you the direct answer. But as I told you, they invented democracy, so you can guess that they weren't repressive (compared to other states), and that they had some of the most famous philosophers, so you know they weren't uneducated. Inventing something - and having highly intelligent people fits with one of your options.
like i said in the other question, Sparta was militaristic and aggressive
and i said Athens was the total opposite
they put a focus on erudition
thus it would stand to reason they were not tyrannical and repressive, nor were they unenlightened and regressive
think about it, a dumb grunt (sparta) vs an academic wiz-kid (athens)
so the logical answer would be.....................
C
well done
