in the figure you've shown line is touching x -axis at -8 and we know it's y coordinate is 0, so point is (-8,0)

Similarly, when a line touches y-axis, it s x coordinate becomes zero and y coordinate is where it touches y -axis, from the graph it's (0, -6)
