in a worksheet they gave it asks me to write a equation for the vertex(0,0) and the focus( 0,1/12)

OpenStudy (kitten_is_back):

have you started yet love?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

ok... so the focus is above the focus.... so the parabola is concave up... the distance from the vertex to the focus is the focal length... the standard form I use is \[(x - h)^2 = 4a(y - k)\] (h, k) is the focus and a is the focal length. you can substitute the values into the standard formula to find the equation
