How did the experience of being "comfort women" affect women from Japanese-occupied countries? A. After the war, surviving comfort women were welcomed back into their societies in their previous peacetime roles. B. The surviving comfort women, forced to live in Japan, were refused readmission to their home countries. C. Many of the comfort women died from disease, or from beatings, and are considered casualties of war. D. Comfort women were usually paired up with Japanese soldiers who chose them as wives after the war.
