Is it a building or a screen or a notepad or a computer? That is the difference between traditional school and online schooling. Each school environment has different type of learning styles. Online courses rely on Internet technology trends including Web pages, software programs such as Blackboard, message boards, chat rooms, and social media. Traditional schools rely on a state curriculum and grading such as Edline. In a traditional school, multiple students gather to learn in a specific time and place. Online courses give students the flexibility to choose the time and place to learn that is most convenient for them. In a traditional school if you learn best visually and your teacher never uses videos or examples to teach you are out of luck. In online school if you learn visually then you can look up videos and examples whenever you want. The one down fall to learning online is that you cannot get that face to face action everyday like you can in a traditional school. Students in traditional is teacher and friend driven. The style of instruction in online programs is student-driven. Depending on the type of school environment rather in school or online students may experience varying levels of control over the pace of receiving learning the material and when they attend the class. Traditional schooling and online schooling have different pros and cons that come along with each .
