OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-3/4+3 3/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think -3/4+3 3/4= 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay I will explain it step by step: -3 / 4 + 3 3 / 4 So I have one question already, is it 3 fourths or 3 divided by 4?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3 FOURTHS

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then, I think the answer would be 3. -3/4 and 3/4 would cancel each other out and you would be left with a positive 3.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's what i thought

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks can i ask another question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay! -3 / 4 + 3 3/4 3 + -3 / 4 + 3 3/4 + 3 4 + 6 3/4 = 10 3/4 So I believe your answer is 10 3/4!

I think you guys are doing your order of operations out of order, your suppose to add and subtract before you multiply and divide...?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well.... that's confusing. it's -.75+3.75

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so thats how we all got 3. i think you were reading the problem wrong.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

learn your order of operation you are wrong who ever said that. they are Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication and Division, and Addition and Subtraction

OpenStudy (anonymous):
