can't fail again and open to correct answers Q#1 :Which contains the least diversity of species? A. family B. class C. order D. phylum my answer : A.family fan and medal
Your answer is correct. Phyla contain Classes which contain Orders which contain Families which contain Genera and then species, so the Family would have the fewest number of species in your list above. This is because there could be several Families (and their species) in each Order and several Orders in each Class, etc.
thank you
Which traits are characteristic of both single-celled and multicellular organisms? Choose all answers that are correct. A. contain organs that help them survive B. have metabolism C. can reproduce a whole colony in a matter of hours D. have ability to reproduce my answers : C & D
D is correct, but I'd choose B as the other answer. All living things metabolize. I don't know of any multicellular organisms that can produce a colony within hours, but a lot of unicellular specis certainly can.
Which traits are characteristic of multicellular organisms? Choose all answers that are correct. A. can reproduce a whole colony in a matter of hours B. contain organs that help it survive C. can grow larger by making new cells D. divide in two to reproduce my answers :A & D
I know of multicellular organisms that can do everything except A. I imagine your instructor is looking for B and C, but I do know of some multicellular organisms that also can do D. There are anemones that do that and possibly some worms.
Anemone fission http://memo.cgu.edu.tw/shu-er/%A5%CD%AA%AB%BD%D2%B5%7B/chap46.files/slide0019_image012.jpg
so B,C,& D
That's what I'd answer, and there's proof of D in the photo link I posted for you.
Which traits are characteristic of single-celled organisms? Choose all answers that are correct. A. contain organs that help them survive B. divide in two to reproduce C. cannot carry out their own life processes D. able to replicate themselves in a small time frame my answers : C & D
They can carry out all their own life processes (it's viruses that cannot and they are not cellular). Unicellular organisms can divide in two to reproduce.
A & B
Just in case your instructor has a problem with multicellular organisms dividing in half, here's another example http://images.slideplayer.com/7/1739458/slides/slide_37.jpg
No, B and D
n which phylum is the class Lepidosauria classified? A. Vertebrata B. Chordata C. Animalia D. Reptiles my answer : A.Vertebrata

The question said "phylum". Vertebrata is not a phylum
B?
Yes
To which phylum would a flowering plant that produces seeds belong? A. Bryophyta B. Lycophyta C. Anthophyta D. Ginkgophyta i said C.Anthophyta
Yes
Which is an advantage that multicellular organisms have compared to single-celled organisms? A. Their cells are all alike. B. They can live in extreme environments. C. They have different cells for different tasks. D. They are able to move around freely. i said C
Yes
Which organism would be classified in the same kingdom as the hawk? A. mold B. moss C. archaea D. earthworm i said D
Yes, they are both animals.
What is the most specific taxonomic classification of this cat? A. Species B. Felis C. Mammalia D. Carnivora i said B
@jherrera57
The most specific classification would be the species Felis sylvestris, but your answer choice doesn't actually list the species name. Species is the most specific in the list. This is kind of tricky. It depends on what your teacher wants. Species is the most specific, but the cat species isn't listed, so I guess the actual genus name of Felis is probably correct.
i think the correct answer is D.Carinvora just saying
if u look @ the list u can see that the cat is listed under Order Carnivora that's why i think it's D
A carnivore could be a dog or a bear. That's not specific to a cat. Genus Felis is a cat genus so that is more specific. The species name is the most specific. I don't know if you r teacher wants species or Felis, but it is one or the other.
The question asked for the most specific classification. The most specific classification on the image is Species Felis sylvestris
Which statement is true for organisms that are classified in the same family? A. They are in the same phylum. B. They are the same species. C. They have the same niche. D. They look identical. i said A
Yes
Which are functions of nucleic acids? Choose all answers that are correct. A. to provide structural support B. to defend against infection C. to carry genetic information D. to process information my answers are C & D
Yes, DNA carries the info and copies itself and RNA processes that info into proteins.
Which are the best examples of types of molecules used for energy storage by organisms? Choose all answers that are correct. A. nucleic acids B. lipids C. carbohydrates D. proteins B C D are what i said
B and C for sure. I don't think D qualifies as a major way to store energy.
Got to go. Thanks and hope you ace it.
What do all four of these types of molecules have in common? A. They contain instructions. B. They are motors for movement. C. Each is only involved in an organism's physical structure. D. They all contain carbon as an important part of their structur
i said D
Yes, all are carbon based.
Which example shows an organism maintaining homeostasis? A. a chicken laying eggs B. a lizard changing color to avoid a predator C. a bacterium dividing into two D. a person sweating on a hot day i said D
