hi, I am trying to learn trig using Khan acadamy and they are asking questions using symbols that they have not yet explained here is the way they ask it: Given \triangle ABC△ABC shown to the left, what is \sin(\angle ABC)sin(∠ABC)? My question is what is the first triangle mean. I am guessing they are referring to the triangle in the illustration. but then there is that second partial triangle that makes no sense sin then half triangle ABC. totally flustrating me

OpenStudy (misty1212):

HI!!

OpenStudy (misty1212):

a screen shot would help a great deal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

here goes

OpenStudy (misty1212):

they are asking for the sine of angle B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it always the middle letter then? the letters change order sometimes

OpenStudy (misty1212):

instead of saying angle B like normal people they say ABC which means start at A, go to B then go to C the angle described i would call B

OpenStudy (misty1212):

yeah middle letter

OpenStudy (anonymous):

kudos to you misty thanks
