A bag contains 3 red marbles, 5 yellow marbles, and 4 blue marbles. One marble is chosen at random. What is the probability that the chosen marble will be blue?

OpenStudy (misty1212):

HI!!

OpenStudy (misty1212):

it is the ratio of the number of blue marbles to the total number of marbles

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4/12=1/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay thank you both

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I shouldn't have gave you a direct answer. Sorry. Add all the numbers up 3+5+4. Then find how many blue. 4/12, then reduce. Your final answer is 1/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thats ok :) Thank you for the explanation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

welcome

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I agree with them both
