do u hve any formulas??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just any that go with pre-cal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

damm pre-cal give me a min

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thank you!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

np...hve u tried drawing a diagram??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No I really don't know how to do it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i got u

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first draw triangle between tha boat, tha top of tha cliff, and tha bottom of tha cliff

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the horizontal distance from tha boat to tha base of tha cliff is 967ft

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, I've got everything drawn out but I don't know how to solve it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea thass tha problem im having

OpenStudy (anonymous):

From what I've tried, would the answer be 275.46?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in feet?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i would think so

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but just to be sure try multiplying the ft by the angle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u got it??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I honestly have no idea..I think it's right.. did you figure it out?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not yet..i cant do this in my head let me get my calculator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

arctan (sin (pi/2)) sin (pi/2) = 1 arctan 1 = pi/4 cliff's height H is the side of a right triangle having opposite angle 15°54' and the other side 967ft H = 967 tan(15°54') = 275ft Is this correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i really dont think my answer is right....275.46 and hope its right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hahaha thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ur welcome...sorry i couldnt hlp more but im not really familiar with pre-cal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's all good at least you tried! Have a good one! (:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u too and if u need hlp with anything else jus let me kno:)
