Find the volume of the cylinder in terms of pi. h=10 and r=5 625 500 125 250

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

what is the formula for volume of a cylinder?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You can get the volume as the area of the circle times the height of the cylinder...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I did but I got a number that is not even an answer

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

is that the shape of your cylinder?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

V = π r 2 h = π · 5 2 · 10 ≈ 785.39816

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you must give the answer in terms of pi: \[V= \pi r^2 h = 25*10*\pi=250\pi\] i guess 250 is the correct one then

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

what is that you did?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That was my answer @nincompoop yes, @Greg_D thank you! That makes much more sense! I was going crazy trying to see what I did wrong.

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

pi's must be treated as pi in themselves if you are asked to solve in "terms of pi"

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

that means that pi will remain constant
