OpenStudy (kaylardz0405):

Which sentence uses a verb that agrees with its compound subject? A. Snow leopards and other rare animals was classified as endangered species. B. Either Jane or Rodney are walking to the store for more supplies. C. Bats and bears both hibernate in caves. D. Salt or pepper are needed to give this dish more flavor.

OpenStudy (kaylardz0405):

C right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am thinking it is B, but I do not know for sure.

OpenStudy (kaylardz0405):

what about C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there are s's at the end of bat and bear... so that is referring to several. However, it only says both. Both refers to 2, not several. But I could be wrong.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C I think is right.

OpenStudy (kaylardz0405):

Im going with C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah in the other sentences the nouns and verbs just don't agree with each other.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*not noun compound subject

OpenStudy (fakereality):

@Blackhole99 They're talking about both species. NOT both individual animals.
