For mutually exclusive events, their intersection or AND is 0.. ie: \[P(A \; and \; B) = 0\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So as you know: \[P(A \; or \; B) = P(A) + P(B) - P(A \; and \; B)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

As last term is 0 for Mutually Exclusive events, as nothing is common in them.. So, you left with only first two terms here..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[P(A \; or \; B) = P(A) + P(B)\] You have now all the things, just use it to find answer...

0.35 @eta
