Please Help! Fan+medal Simplify the following algebraic expression using order of operation (2x + 5x) - (24x divided by 4) A. x B. 13x C. -13x D. 4x
first simplify the first parentheses then simplify the second parentheses then add/subtract from left to right
I'm new to this so its super confusing
ok so first do you know what X equals?
please reply and i will help the best i can! :)
first you would go to your first set of parentheses and answer 2x+5x and you would get 7x correct? Well then you would move to the next set of parentheses and divide 24x by 4 to give you ? or 6 then you would subtract and 7x-6x would get you to not 1 but to just one X therefore your answer is A! :)
if you don't understand or have any other questions let me know! :)
sorry bathroom break
@Person156
no i dont know what x means
Okay that's fine to answer a question you do not always need to know what the variable (X) means! . I put your answer above... but if you have any questions about how i got it feel free to ask!! :)
Thanks :)
you're welcome! :) any more questions?
No im fine for now

Algebra can be looked upon as a symbolic language which uses letters as quantities. The letter x is used very often - it just means some quantity. Eg x might mean a box of apples - so 2x means 2 boxes of apples , 6x = 6 boxes of apples.
