The position of an object at time t is given by s(t) = -9 - 3t. Find the instantaneous velocity at t = 8 by finding the derivative. Can some one help? I don't know how to do this at all.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ds/dt =-3 at t=8 ds/dt=-3 it shows the object is moving away at the rate of 3 units per second.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is that it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there is no variable t so ds/dt will remain constant for any value

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay. This actually helped. Thank you
