Find f(2) if f(x) = (x + 1)^2. 5 6 9

OpenStudy (alyssa_xo):

just plug it in...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Plug in 2 for x because it is your x-value. If someone asks to plug in something for f(x) and gives you x, you automatically plug in the value of x into f(x). Does that make sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then you just solve this Q like a normal expression.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Show me how you'd plug in 2 for x please :)

OpenStudy (phi):

Find f(2) if f(x) = (x + 1)^2. f(2) is short for "replace x with 2" and do the arithmetic in other words, erase the x and put 2 in its place, like this (2+1)^2 do you remember "order of operations" ? first do the the "stuff" in the parens. what is 2+1 ?

thank you
