y = -3x + 2 ***Given*** x-2y = 10 ***Given*** x - 2(-3x +2) = 10 ***Substitute y in one equation into the other*** x + 6x - 4 = 10 ***Simplify by distribution*** 7x = 14 ***Solve for x*** x = 2 y = -3(2) + 2 ***substitute x into other equation and solve for y*** x = 2 y = -4
