if the function is in the form of y=b^x where b >1 then it is an exponential growth function (it will look like a boomerang that starts low and increases sharply) if the function is in the form of y=b^x where 0 < b < 1 then it is an exponential decay function (it will look like a boomerang that starts high and decreases sharply)
