no... do you know how to find the slope and the y intercept of both of those equations ?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

equations in y = mx + b form....the slope is in the m position and the y intercept is in the b position. For example : y = 2x + 6.....the slope is 2 and the y intercept is 6 now can you find the slope and y intercept of the other equation ?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

once you find the slope and y intercept of the other equation, you compare them. If they both have : same slopes, same y int = infinite solutions same slopes, different y int = parallel lines -- no solution different slopes and different y int = one solution
