Naomi plotted the graph below to show the relationship between the temperature of her city and the number of popsicles she sold daily:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Part A: In your own words, describe the relationship between the temperature of the city and the number of popsicles sold. (2 points) Part B: Describe how you can make the line of best fit. Write the approximate slope and y-intercept of the line of best fit. Show your work. (3 points)

@jackmullen55

OpenStudy (anonymous):

as the temp increased so did the number of popsicles sold

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A: The hotter the city the more popsicles sole (do this in your own words love)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is that A or B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B is really only drawing a line through the center of the points e.g.|dw:1432740017756:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to do B u pick two points that u think show how most of the points are going and then do y2-y1/x2-x1 to get the slope that u need to plot and @jackmullen55 can explain it better

OpenStudy (anonymous):

could u guys expanie it better

OpenStudy (anonymous):

bu tif u chose (90,20) and (40,10) you would do \[\frac{ 90-40 }{ 40-10 }\] and u get 50/30 which reduces to 5/3 and thats the slope that u would plot to find the line of best fit

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But if**

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jackmullen55 is that right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do i say??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah it looks right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

one sec

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hold on but its (90,20) not (90,40)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sry one sec
