Which of the following states of matter is always a good conductor of electricity? solid, liquid, gas, or plasma **:/ Thank you!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Plasma

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, thank you!! :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how come it is plasma?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problemm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Why? It's because the atomic nuclei are so closely packed that an electron ends up being pushed into a lower orbit at same speed, meaning electron can break orbit without extra energy, also newly introduced electrons will not have enough room to make orbits so will just flow through a material with minimal resistance.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh okay! thank you:) do you get this then, too? :P What particles make up a plasma of hydrogen? A. H_2 only B. H^+ only C. e^- only D. H^+ and e^-

OpenStudy (anonymous):

One electron and one proton

OpenStudy (anonymous):

does that mean choice D? :O

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Correccttt :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you!! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem X)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ione electron and one proton - but those are now known to be made of other particles :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

one*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh okay!! yay!! thank you:D
