ok so u say its C right well you are correct It would be C. Identity is not something that is programmed into our genetic code because if it was, everyone would not have their own identity. It can't always change based on circumstances and situations because if it did, no one would be one person for more than a day or two; that'd be an issue. And while D is reasonable it cannot be because students start searching for their identity by the time that they START puberty.
