the perimeter means the length of all the edges added together

the diagram gives you explicit values for all the edges except the left hand edge

However - this edge is the same as the 2 opposite edges added together

so once you have worked out the left edge, simply add all the edges to gether fro the answer

if you do that then you are counting the top number twice. look again.
