thank u, and i thnk its either a gerund or participle but I'm not sure...
do you know what either of those mean?
well i know that a gerund ends in "ing" but so does a participle under circumstances
first of all, what is underlined?
oops sorry... its "panting"
i would say a but not 100% sure
okay, so we know the most participle phrases end in -ing, and past participles end with -ed, and in some cases -en.
right
do you know what gerund is?
no..
basically it is a noun made from a verb adding -ing. For example: the gerund form of "read" is "reading".
oh ok so -panting- would be a gerund?
you got it :)
so its c?
yes.
but why isn't it a participle?
It can only be gerund because it was a verb, now it is a noun.
well, sort of, but it isn't participle.
ok thank u ur the best!!!
you're welcome :)
