help please!!!
@Vocaloid
@Vocaloid
This is EXACTLY the same problem as I spent 2 hours on with oyu this week and you contributed NOTHING If you had tried to do that then yu would know how to do this. Multiply both sides by the scale factor to get the length of the real room in inches
ok sooo... thats the first step? @MrNood
l*w =a or 6*4=24 @MrNood you dont have to be mean about it
24 before scale factor whats your scale factor
20?
ok i think its 20*24=480
thanks for the help @douglas101 but let @MrNood help me :)
ok good luck
It ells you in the drawing the scale is 1:40 this means the drawing is 40 times smaller than the room so multiply the drawing sizes (6" and 4") by 40 to get the lengths of the sides of the real room
so i have to do 6 x 40 and 4 x 40?
SO the scale length of the room is 6" means the real length of the room is ?? inches the scale width of the room is 4 inches means the real width of the room is ?? inches
yes - do what you said above
ok.. 6 x 40 = 240 4 x 40 = 160 @MrNood
@MrNood ??
SO the scale length of the room is 6" means the real length of the room is 240" the scale width of the room is 4"means the real width of the room is 160" The area of the room is length x width length = 240" width = 160" so Area = ??? square inches?
so for area i have to do this.. 240 x 160?
Yes - that wil give you the area in square inches do that first (but it is not quite the answer yet....)
ok its.. 38,400
Correct you need to put in the units: Area of room = 38400 square inches but th equestion asks for the answer in square feet
SO|dw:1432837996502:dw| IF you had tiles which were 1" square how many would you need to fill 1 square foot? 12" wide by 12" long
