simplify the expression. a^2+2a+1/5a+5

OpenStudy (hockeychick23):

a^2+2.2a+5 or a^2+ 2 1/5a+5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you show me"?

OpenStudy (hockeychick23):

Yea, so the only thing you can do with this equation is combine like terms: a^2+2a+1/5a+5 In this case the only like terms are 2a and 1/5a So you leave a^2 the way it is and 5 the way it is

OpenStudy (hockeychick23):

When you combine 2a and 1/5 a you get 2 1/5a also written as 2.2a or 11/5a

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you draw it if thats ok? (i dont want to ask for to much)
