I need help x^2 + 6x -8 = 0

OpenStudy (vampirediaries):

Is there a specific method you need to solve this problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes im sorry, solving Quadratic Equations.

OpenStudy (vampirediaries):

So an easy way to solve this would be to use the Quadratic Equation. \[x= \frac{-b \pm \sqrt{b ^{2}-4ac} }{ 2a }\] The first term in the equation ones that follow are: a, b, c a = x b= 6 c= -8 Then plug in the values

Ok, I'll start with that. Thank you.
