OpenStudy (warpedkitten):

(Will give medal) Find the surface area of the regular hexagonal pyramid shown to the nearest square meter. a. 406 m2 b. 393 m2 c. 819 m2 d. 240 m2

OpenStudy (mrnood):

You can break this surface easily into simple shapes The six sides are simply triangles Their base is 8m, and their height is 10m - this computation is simple The drawing also gives the distance of the side to the centre of the base So you can break this into 6 triangle with base = 8 and height =4 sqrt(3) So you have to a) find 2 triangle areas b) multiply each of those by 6 c) add those values together
