7 blue, 5 yellow, 8 red, 4 green, 6 purple marbles. So what is 7+5+8+4+6?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

30

OpenStudy (hockeychick23):

good so the total number of marbles is 30. We have 5 yellow marbles so we do 30-5= 25 because there are 5 yellow marbles. 25/30 is the probability of selecting a marble that isn't yellow simplified is 5/6
