Which statement correctly describes the gravitational potential energy of the pendulum based on this diagram? A. It is greatest when the bob is in the rest position. B. It is greatest when the bob is at its maximum amplitude. C. It is greatest at 25% of the period length. D. It is greatest at the point where the arm meets the pivot point. link to pic: http://static.k12.com/calms_media/media/1363000_1363500/1363161/1/8a9dcce4be9d83d2369b3a706c05bd931816629b/MS_PHYS_SCI_287750.jpg

\(\boxed{\text{Gravitational Potential Energy = Mgh}}\) Where, M= mass of the pendulum bob, g = 9.8 m/s/s and h is height of the bob from ground level.
This means, higher the bob is from the ground, more will be the gravitational potential energy stored in it.
When the bob is at rest h=0
Gravitation potential energy=0
When the bob is displacing frm its rest position height h increasing
U know Amplitude=maximum displacement
At maximum displacement position h will b maximum
So potential energy will b maximum
