WILL MEDAL What is the approximate perimeter of the figure? A. 7.85 in. B. 12.9 in. C. 17.9 in. D. 31.4 in.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just add the lenghts. each non curved side is 5 in. long and the curved side side is one quarter of a circle perimeter...

OpenStudy (barreraa):

C. 17.9 in. @alurahenderson

OpenStudy (barreraa):

You want the perimeter of the whole piece. So, because there are two sides that equal 5, add 10 to 17.85

OpenStudy (alurahenderson):

@barreraA Can you please tell me how you got the answer because I don't really understand

OpenStudy (barreraa):

so round that to 17.9, and the answer is C.

OpenStudy (barreraa):

but first u get the circumference of the circle which is 31.42

OpenStudy (barreraa):

thn i get this 31.42/4=?

OpenStudy (barreraa):

after tht 4=7.85

OpenStudy (alurahenderson):

Thank you both @barreraA @Greg_D

OpenStudy (alurahenderson):

7.85

OpenStudy (barreraa):

yes then u round it and u get C as ur answer @alurahenderson

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks to barreraA, he made it step by step!

OpenStudy (barreraa):

np @alurahenderson and @Greg_D
