All electromagnetic radiation doesn't need a medium.

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

Light travels through space to earth in a vacuum. :-) So, which one of these is EM radiation?

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

X-rays are electromagnetic waves, and electromagnetic waves can travel in absence of medium, please keep in mind the sunlight, which is an electromagnetic wave, and it travels from Sun to Earth, into the empty space
