OpenStudy (grimsnightmare):

Okay in an example problem for Charles Law, my teacher had the information; T1 = 317 K V1 = 250 cm^3 T2 = 273 K V2 = ?? When she put all the information in the equation she go the answer V2 = 215.2996845 cm^3 But then she changed it to 220 cm^3 Could someone just explain to me how and why she did this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that don't make any sense she should have simplified to 215 cm^3 not 220. There is no good reason to round the answer that high

OpenStudy (anonymous):

maybe it was because the first volume only had two significant numbers so your teacher changed the second volume to have two as well

OpenStudy (grimsnightmare):

Well thank you. I didn't think it made any sense either.
