Equation is of the form: ax^2 + bx +c = 0 Discriminant is: b^2 – 4*a*c. if discriminant is positive then two real solutions, if it’s negative then no real solutions and if it = 0 the one real solution. this should help: http://www.purplemath.com/modules/quadform2.htm
