What is the median of the data set? {10, 15, 14, 14, 10, 10, 8, 18, 11, 12, 17, 16}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The median is the middle number. So, you arrange all the data from greatest to least and find the middle. If there is 2 numbers in the middle, you divide by 2. So, your numbers are: 8 10 10 10 11 12 14 14 15 16 17 18 Im not going to do it all for you, but i will walk you through it. Can you tell me the middle?

12 and 14? So I'd divide those two, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes. You would do: (12 + 14) / 2

I got 13. Thanks a bunch!
